After years of hitting with polyester strings, I started to experience sharp pain at the point of my elbow and upper forearm. It got so bad that I couldn’t hold a jug of milk. Like an idiot, I continued playing thinking that improving my technique would cure the problem. Not only was I wrong, my condition worsened into full-blown lateral and medial epicondylitis, also known as tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow.

During my recovery, I dove into the research to learn as much as possible about preventative measures, and that’s how I learned about the benefits of hybrid strings: Combining a polyester or co-poly with a multifilament or natural gut to reduce or even eliminate arm discomfort. I was anxious to experiment with different strings to find the best hybrid setup for me.

I quickly discovered there weren’t many choices for hybrid string sets. And I wanted to experiment with different string combinations, but I had to buy two full sets and use half from each. I thought this was strange; surely there ought to be a wider selection of hybrid sets, but there wasn’t. As a consumer, I didn’t want to buy two full sets of different strings just to experiment with half of each, and often the remaining half sets would go to waste if I didn’t like the combination. There had to be a better way.

Guided by an obsession for all things tennis, I found the best string manufacturers from around the world and curated a collection of hybrid string sets for all types of playing styles.
